Secret Méribel: discover some of the best hidden…
Do you really know the heart of the 3 Valleys?
Halfway between hiking and climbing, Via Ferrata is one of Méribel’s flagship summer activities along with tree climbing or canyoning. It is practiced on cliffs or rocky walls, following equipped routes to move safely close to the mountain. In Méribel, Via Ferrata caters to all levels, from beginners to experts. It can be done alone or in groups, independently or with a guide, and across 3 routes with very diverse themes and levels, so that everyone can have an unforgettable experience that suits them. All that’s left is to equip yourself with the mandatory gear before heading out to discover breathtaking panoramas!
Created in 1998, the Dent du Burgin Via Ferrata is the highest in France, with its summit reaching 2700 meters in altitude. Of medium to difficult difficulty, this route entirely along the Dent du Burgin ridge offers a splendid panorama and gives hikers thrilling sensations. Some sections are impressive and vertiginous, like the descent of the small needle “Le Curé” at 70m high vertically. It takes about a half-day to fully enjoy this Via Ferrata route at your own pace, accessible from the Pas du Lac cable car in Méribel-Mottaret. Take the opportunity to organize a memorable picnic. Several sections are very easy and allow you to eat and drink without any problem. This will give you time to admire the magnificent and unparalleled panorama of the Vanoise glaciers and all the Alps.
