2024 was a year full of events in Méribel: the very first Franglish Comedy Festival, the French Biathlon and Cross-country Skiing Championships, the Game Over Festival and so many other wonderful occasions.

Méribel opening : 7 December 2024

To mark the occasion, we're organising a whole host of events to welcome you on 7 December 2024.

Skiing makes us happy, so the start of the season should be an unforgettable celebration!

9am to 11am: Breakfast on the lifts! Who hasn’t dreamt of indulging in a still-warm croissant and a steaming cup of coffee while admiring the snowy peaks? Come and collect a delicious breakfast, complete with thermos and French pastries, and tuck into them in the Pas du Lac or Saulire Express gondola lifts.

📍 Pick up your breakfast package at La Chaudanne in Méribel Centre or at the foot of the lifts in Mottaret.

From 11.30am to 1pm: Time for a little something?! Sport builds up an appetite. And skiing gives you the opportunity to tuck into delicious Alpine specialities! Discover a true Savoyard atmosphere on the slopes with folk songs, accordion music and, most importantly, mouth-watering local produce to sample.

From 5.30pm to 8.30pm: come and join us on the dancefloor ! Winter holidays are a time for partying, so come and wave your mittens in the air to ‘Applause Show’, the latest project by Matteo from the group CHINESE MAN. He’ll be joined by DJs Tsunami, Kermitta and Bob Sleigh, as well as a show by Vjing.

From December 22 to 25, 2024, experience the magical holiday atmosphere in Méribel! 🎄

📅22 DECEMBER : CHRISTMAS SHOW

22 December – Christmas show at the auditorium: Did you know that Father Christmas can breakdance? Get ready to laugh and be amazed at this dance show filled with the magic of the festive season.

📍 Auditorium – 27 place Maurice Front – Maison du Tourisme – Méribel Centre

📅 23 DECEMBER : PARADE OF THE DANCING ELVES

Each area of the resort will be brought to life by Christmas parades and lots of other surprises!

In Méribel Centre, you’ll come across Santa’s sparkly dancing elves.

In Méribel Mottaret, brightly coloured and mischievous elves will be bringing the streets to life with their wild dancing.

📅 24 DECEMBER : FATHER CHRISTMAS COMES TO TOWN

Wherever you are staying, you’ll be enchanted by the many events that create a magical atmosphere throughout the resort.

5.30pm to 6.15pm – Parade of Music and Lights: Discover luminous elves accompanied by giant horses in a musical procession through the streets.

📍 Place de l’office du Tourisme, 510 Rte Albert Gacon, 73550 Les Allues.

5.30pm to 6.30pm – Christmas songs: Discover the sublime voices of these two singers from the group Christmas Diamonds. Dressed in red, they will perform your favourite Christmas classics.

From 5.50pm to 6.15pm – Father Christmas in the sky: Look up to catch a glimpse of Father Christmas himself. He will make his way across the rooftops of the resort, surrounded by his mischievous elves, an illuminated parade and glittering golden presents.

6:30pm to 8pm – Christmas Mass: Following Father Christmas’s arrival, the parade will descend to the Parc Olympique to celebrate Christmas mass.

5.45pm to 6.15pm – Father Christmas arrives in a horse-drawn carriage: In the distance, jingle bells can be heard. Then, wooden wheels crunch through the snow, and hooves clip-clop on the ground. Father Christmas is arriving! Surrounded by four colourful dancing elves, he will arrive in a fairy-tale horse-drawn carriage to meet the waiting children.

6.15pm – Torchlight descent:

End the day in style by watching a traditional torchlight descent by ESF instructors, followed by a firework display.

📅 25 DECEMBER : BONA NÈVE ! (Savoyard expressions to say Merry Christmas)

Come and meet Father Christmas at the foot of the pistes at la Chaudanne. The magic continues with a spectacular torchlight descent, followed by a fireworks display.

New Year on the slopes

It is a Happy New Year's Morning! ❄️

What with 30 competing parties organised by your friends, trying to plan a meal to please everyone, and tensions over the evening’s playlist, organising New Year’s Eve often turns into a headache.

The solution? Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Méribel! Here, we’ll prepare the perfect New Year’s Eve for you.

📅 31 DECEMBER

6.30pm – Torchlight descent: Our ESF instructors love to ski down the slopes after dark, so make sure you don’t miss the famous torchlight descent at the centre of Mottaret.

The evening continues with fireworks at Méribel Village, Méribel Centre and Mottaret.

10.30pm to 1.30am – Open-air nightclub: See in the New Year with a dazzling show by the Folie Douce, followed by a DJ set by Sandy Sax on saxophone, for an evening combining funk, melodic techno and deep house.

Fireworks will light up the sky to announce the arrival of the New Year.
